Verizon is Stalking Me.

4 months ago: Stopped Verizon service and signed a 2 year contract with AT&T

3.5 months ago: Received letter from Verizon saying they missed me and wanted me back.

3 months ago: Started getting annoyed with AT&T dropping my calls.

8 days ago: AT&T cell phone vanished.

7.5 days ago: Tried calling AT&T service for help. No customer service reps on Sunday.

7 days ago: Called AT&T, got annoyed with the rep, and asked about canceling contract.

6.5 days ago: Called AT&T got a different rep and ordered replacement phone. Purchased a piece-of-crap AT&T Go Phone to use until my replacement phone came in the mail.

6 days ago: Verizon Wireless called to do a survey about my service with Verizon and why I chose to leave.

5 days ago: Received replacement phone in the mail. Turned it on. Instantly hated phone. Instantly got another call from Verizon. This time with a survey of the politeness of previous surveyor.

4 days ago: Discovered that I could not retrieve my address book from my lost AT&T phone. Annoyed with AT&T service and AT&T phone.

3.5 days ago: Went into Verizon Store and switched back to Verizon.

3 days ago: My old Verizon contact list appeared on my new Verizon phone.

It could be a simple coincidence that Verizon contacted me so soon after my phone vanished. It might be chance that Verizon called again just as I considered tossing the AT&T replacement phone out the window. Or (and I like this theory best) it might be a conspiracy.

Perhaps Verizon has been stalking me for months waiting for the opportunity to win me back. If that's the case my phone was never "lost" it was taken by a Verizon Wireless operative who purposefully made me think that a small child had mistakenly picked it up. That same spy had been monitoring my conversations with AT&T and watching my mail and knew exactly when to contact me in order to catch me when I was at the height of frustration with AT&T.

I don't normally subscribe to conspiracy theories, but this one was a lot of fun to develop. ;)
